HONORING THOSE WHO ARE BATTLING BREAST CANCER

OUR VISION: To see women battling breast cancer recover fully...physically, mentally and emotionally, and live fabulous lives of joy and fulfillment.

OUR MISSION: To battle with you Warriors against this disease by providing emotional encouragement and strength. To honor those who survive...and those who fall.

My name is Carla Wells, and I know what you are going through. On Good Friday in the year 2000, I was forty-three and newly married. I was also facing a diagnosis of invasive breast cancer. I remember my Dad standing at the end of my hospital bed crying. It is one of the few times I have ever seen him cry in his life. The horrible feeling it gave me, that my Father, so strong throughout my entire life, was crying over me is absolutely beyond description. But I know that you understand.

People were nice to me, but soon enough friends and business associates began to drop away like swatted flies. Some people don't want to be around "bad news." I understand. Maybe you do too. Soon, my life changed radically. Having breast cancer led to decisions and life changes that brought on "a series of unfortunate events." In the next couple of years, I lost my business of many years, my home, and most of my personal belongings. My husband, a Pastor, lost his church. Faced with little income and no health insurance, I was forced to deal with this disease in the best way I knew how.

By fighting. And praying. And fighting some more.

And today, I'm still here. Still fighting, still praying. I understand how important it is to have a support system of others who stand with you, as well as to have contact with those who have "been there too." Let me, and The aMAZoS Society be a part of that support system for you.

This website may be simple, but it is born from a true desire to overcome a complex disease. For me, and for you. Be a Warrior with me. Maybe we can grow and improve together...
